Load bank records

Generator load bank test software for the report the customer signs.

PowerOps is generator service software. On a load bank visit it stores the steps, the readings, and the signatures on the work order, then prints that report. It documents the test. It does not certify it.

The method, including why a no-load run is not a load test, stays in the load bank testing guide. This page is what you are buying.

Fields the report keeps

The step sequence is chosen for the job. The adopted edition and the AHJ set which sequence applies. The software stores the sequence that was run and prints it on the report.

Load percent and duration

Each step stores the load percent and how long that step ran. The printed report lists the sequence that was run, including warm-up and cool-down when they were part of the test.

kW on the step

Readings can include building load kW and load bank kW. The report can show the total. Staff still confirm the meter and the nameplate before anyone treats the number as the test result.

Electrical and engine readings

Line-to-line voltage, amps on each phase, frequency, oil pressure, coolant temperature, exhaust temperature, and engine hours are captured on the reading schedule for the step.

Observations and deficiencies

The wrap-up records leak, noise, stability, and connection checks, plus deficiencies, corrective action, and remarks. A missing note stays missing. The form does not invent one.

A sample is the report from the job

There is no stock sample with someone else’s generator on it. The PDF from a submitted test is the sample: identity, steps, readings, result, and signatures.

Identity and result

Customer, site, unit make, model, and serial, the work order, the result (pass, fail, or pass with deficiencies), and the basis for the sequence.

Steps and readings

Readings sit on the step they belong to, with the load percent and the elapsed time. The footer lists the sequence that was run.

Two signatures

The technician and a customer representative sign, each with a date. Completing the work order remains a separate named-person gate.

Other tools publish load-bank or test-report products. Treat those descriptions as vendor-reported and confirm the fields in a demo. PowerOps does not rank them.

Questions and answers

What does generator load bank test software record?

PowerOps stores each step’s load percent and duration, then the readings taken on that step: line-to-line voltage, amps per phase, frequency, oil pressure, coolant and exhaust temperature, engine hours, building load kW, and load bank kW. The report prints the sequence that was actually run.

Who signs a load bank test report?

The load bank report has two signature lines: the technician and a customer representative, each with a date. That is the sign-off on the test report. Completing the work order is a separate audited gate, clicked by a named person. Neither signature certifies the facility.

Does the software certify the load bank test?

No. The software documents the test: the steps, the readings, the observations, the deficiencies, and the signatures. The adopted edition, the manufacturer, the facility, and the authority having jurisdiction decide whether the test meets the requirement. Confirm that scope in a demo.

Where are ATS transfer readings kept?

ATS transfer and retransfer, including time delay, are recorded on the transfer-switch inspection for that job, not as a column on the load bank report. Both records can live on the same work order. Review each one against the visit you actually sold.

How is this different from the load bank testing guide?

The guide explains what a load bank test is and what a defensible record contains. This page is the buying page: the fields the software stores, who signs the report, and how to see it on a demo. Read the guide for the method. Book a demo to see the report.
